Instructions for Public Spaces…unusual times
“Instructions for public spaces….unusual times”, The Public Space Museum in Bologna, 2021.
This project is collaboration between the Public Space Museum, RMIT School of Art, Master of Arts – Art in Public Space candidates and the London Metropolitan University’s Master of Public Art and Performance candidates. The concept is Covid-19 response to public space. Participating artists would offer creative instructions to people in public space during these unusual times.
My Poster Tote symbionts were redesigned to include white peace flags encrypted with birds’ voice transforming the artwork for a projection format. The narrative and context are the same as the poster. More information can be assessed through Climate Crisis Paste-up page. You will note the words on the poster were taken away in order to bridge the difference between languages systems, although the voice of birds is still written in English. However the text can also be read as symbols and signs of human interaction with other beings, the literal meaning need not apply.
The collective artwork will take the form of projection. The site is Via Eugenio Curiel 13/d, Bologna, Italy. The Museum for Public Space is the first Italian research centre entirely dedicated to collaborative and transdisciplinary approach to public space practice, merging art, architecture and technology into a complex new discipline.
